In 2010 the 12-0 Oregon Ducks were chosen to play the 13-0 Auburn Tigers in the BCS National Championship. TCU was left out despite also being 12-0. Auburn beat Oregon 22-19 in the BCS National Championship Game, while TCU defeated Wisconsin 21-19 in the Rose Bowl. A majority of polls gave Auburn the National Championship.

In 2010 Gary Patterson coached the TCU Horned Frogs to an undefeated season with victories over Oregon State, Utah, and Wisconsin. The Congrove Computer Rankings awarded the National Championship to TCU.

TCU does not claim this as a National Championship. Why shouldn’t they? Who is to tell them Auburn was better. We will never know; they didn’t settle it on the field. So go ahead, TCU, claim this as a National Championship.
