In 1970 USC played the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. USC had a fully integrated football team; the Crimson Tide was an all-white team. The Trojans beat the Tide 42-21 with all of the Trojan’s touchdowns being scored by black players.

This game hastened the integration of college football in Alabama and in the South. The next year Coach Bryant had a black player, John Mitchell, on his team.
