The Quick Lane Bowl has been played two times. In 2014 the Rutgers Scarlet Knights beat the North Carolina Tar Heels 40-21. In 2015 the Minnesota Golden Gophers beat Central Michigan Chippewas 21-14, so both Rutgers and Central Michigan have the most Quick Lane Bowl victories. One team will join their ranks as this year’s bowl has neither team in it. This year’s Quick Lane Bowl is on December 26, 2016 at 1:30 PM EST and will be on ESPN; the Maryland Terrapins play the Boston College Eagles.
In the 2015 Bowl Minnesota’s Mitch Leidner passed for 223 yards, passed for one TD, ran for 19 yards, and ran for one TD in a 21-14 win over the Central Michigan Chippewas. This earned him MVP honors for this bowl game.
