Jay Norvell played for the Iowa Hawkeyes from 1982 to 1985. He was a defensive back.
Jay had seven interceptions his senior season for the Hawkeyes. He went on to play one season for the Chicago bears as a linebacker.
He started his coaching career as an Iowa Hawkeye’s graduate assistant and then moved on to be the wide receivers coach for Northern Iowa. He also has NFL experience as an assistant coach in the NFL for the Colts and then the Raiders. After the NFL he was an offensive coordinator for various college teams. On December 7, 2016, it was announced that Norvell was hired as the head coach of Nevada Wolf Pack. Let’s see how he does!
