Terrell Owens played for the Chattanooga Mocs (Tennessee). Terrell Owens had 12 career receiving TDs in college.
Terrell was double teamed throughout most of his college career. He ended up with 115 catches for 1,748 yard while at Chattanooga. Terrell was a three sport athlete in college, also playing basketball and running track. He played in March Madness: the 1995 NCAA Basketball Tournament. However, he was not a prolific basketball player averaging only 1.5 points per game and 1.3 rebound per game.
His college football stats while good, pale in comparison to his NFL stats. He scored 153 TDs in the NFL. In college Terrell averaged four touchdowns per season, while in the NFL he averaged 10.2 touchdowns per season. In the NFL he averaged .7 TDs per game, while in college he averaged .36 TDs per game, so his NFL average was nearly double of his college average. Just goes to show that NFL success is hard to predict based on college success. The NFL scouts didn’t even think that highly of him, because he was only drafted in the third round as the 89th pick by the San Francisco 49ers: a player who someday will most likely be selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
