So far this season who has more touchdowns responsible for: J.T. Barrett or Deshaun Watson? (Factoid 892)

Date: 10/9/16
J.T. Barrett QB Ohio State vs Wisconsin
Ohio State QB J.T. Barrett vs. Wisconsin

As of week seven, October 16, 2016, J.T. Barrett has more touchdowns responsible for with 22, while DeShaun Watson has 21. Watson is leading in TD passes with 20 vs. 16 for Barrett. Barrett on the other hand is leading in rushing TDs with 6 vs. 1 for Deshaun.

Both J.T. Barrett and Deshaun Watson have undefeated teams, have survived a major opponent, Louisville for Clemson (42-36) and Wisconsin for Ohio State (30-23 in OT), and our Heisman Trophy Candidates.

Deshaun Watson’s Clemson Tigers have not been playing up to expectations according to many pundits. Deshaun himself is having a much slower year in the rushing department with only one rushing TD and with approximately half as many rushing yards as he did have last season at week seven. Deshaun and Clemson have an easier road to the win their division and their championship, the biggest hurdle is Florida State next week. Florida State has been inconsistent this year, so the road to the playoffs is Deshuan’s and Clemson’s to lose. He is still one of the front runners for the Heisman, but he will need to have big games and it looks like his arm is going to have it to win it for him, as for whatever reason his rushing is off this year.

Ohio State had been rolling, but was slowed down by Indiana and Wisconsin, both of which are very good teams. J.T. has not been stellar on the passing end of his game, but his running has been lights out. J.T. and Ohio State have a much tougher road to win their division and win their conference championship game. Most notably an undefeated Nebraska team and a reborn Michigan squat, it appears both power houses are back this year! To win the Heisman J.T. will have to win these games and improve his passing, but he is definitely also a front runner.
