Quarterback Carson Palmer from USC was the first pick of the 2003 NFL Draft. Carson was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals.

Carson Palmer played for the Trojans for five years with a short year due to an injury in 1999. His senior year he won the Heisman, the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, the Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year, and was a consensus All-American.

Carson played for the Bengal for eight years, the Raiders for two, and is presently playing and starting for the Cardinals. He is a three-time Pro-Bowler, but has not fared well in the playoffs. His career most certainly has not been a bust and he has played to a first pick in the draft caliber; with some playoff wins and a Super Bowl victory he could most certainly raise is standing and legacy.

Cincinnati and Palmer parted ways, but this has worked out well for the Bengals as their starter is now Andy Dalton who has done quite well, but then again the Bengals can’t seem to win a playoff game.
