Blog - #5 - December Playoffs Why Not?

12/14/13-Author:Tali
November 30, 2013 saw two amazing games with two amazing endings:

The Alabama vs. Auburn game was an instant classic with probably the most memorable ending in history: a field goal attempt that was returned for a touchdown by the defending team, resulting in an Auburn 34 to 28 upset victory over Alabama.

The Ohio State vs. Michigan game ending in a winner-take-all two point conversion attempt by Michigan: that failed and enabled the Buckeyes to escape Ann Auburn with a 42 to 41 victory, but the Wolverines had fought valiantly, giving a heavily favored Buckeye team all it could handle. These were great! The conference championships were also exciting. This, however, is the last of the relevant games until the BCS National Title game in January, so a whole month of irrelevant college football awaits! Yea! (Sarcasm?)

So, if college basketball can have a 64 team playoff, why can’t college football have a playoff? What if there was a 16 team or a 32 team playoff? A whole month of relevant, fun, and exciting football!
