Quarterback Cam Newton from Auburn was the first pick of the 2011 NFL Draft. Cam was drafted by the Carolina Panthers.
Cam Newton was recruited by Florida and Urban Meyer and originally went there, however he transferred to Auburn and played for them in the 2010 season. His one year at Auburn he threw for 2,854 yards, 30 TDs, and seven interceptions. That same year he won the Heisman and was a consensus All-American.
Cam Newton started as a rookie and has never looked back. He has made the Pro Bowl three times and last year took his team to the Super Bowl. He needs to win a Super Bowl to enter the list of all time elite quarterbacks.
