Marcus Allen attended the University of Southern California. He played for the Trojans from 1978 to 1981.

Allen had to wait his turn at Running Back U behind Heisman Trophy winner Charles White. Allen started his junior and senior seasons. In 1981 he surpassed the 2,000-yard rushing mark with 2,342 yards rushing, which led to him winning the Heisman Trophy in 1981. Over his college career Marcus ran for 4,682 yards and 45 TDs. He also had 801 yards receiving with two TD receptions. However, he was only on one National Championship team and that was his freshmen year in 1978.

Allen was drafted as the 10th overall pick by the Oakland Raiders. He had a 16-year career in the NFL, which is very long for a running back. He won the XVIII Super Bowl with the Raiders and was that game’s MVP. He was six-time Pro-Bowler and amassed 12,243 yards rushing with 74 TDs, as well as being a prolific receiving back with 587 receptions for 5,411 yards and 21 TDs. He is in the College Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
