Vince Young and the Longhorns defeated USC by a score of 41-38 in what some call the most exciting National Championship game to date. The game did set the record for most points scored in a BCS National Championship game with 79 total points scored. It was Texas’s legendary coach Mack Brown’s first and only National Championship.
