Factoid 361 - The Oregon Ducks: record, championships, etc...

Date: 1/9/15

Oregon has been playing football since 1894. They are a winning program, although national prominence has only come lately. They have 12 conference titles and four division titles. Six of the conference titles are from 2000 or later. Marcus Mariota is their first Heisman trophy winner.

Six Oregon players are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame: Norm Van Brocklin; Alphonse Leemans; Dan Fouts; Mel Renfro; Dave Wilcox; and Gary Zimmerman. Their post season bowl record is 13-15. Recently they have come to national prominence winning their last four bowl games against such power house programs as Florida State, the Texas Longhorns, and the Wisconsin Badgers. A victory Monday night will cement their place on the national stage.
