This weekend Brady Hoke’s Michigan Wolverines play Mark Dantonio’s Michigan State Spartans at 3:30 pm in Spartan Stadium. Hoke’s record is 29-17 at Michigan, 16-11 in the Big Ten as Michigan’s head coach, and 1-2 against the Spartans. Against the Spartans Michigan has been outscored 32-67.
Coach Dantonio’s record vs. Michgian is 5-2, and Sparty has outscored Michigan 190-124. In the seven years that Dantonio has been head coach the Wolverines are scoring less and less: 34pts (2007); 21pts (2008); 20pts (2009); 17pts (2010); 14pts (2011); 12pts (2012); and 6pts (2013).
Michigan State (6-1) is the eighth ranked team in the country with a strong defense once again, while Michigan (3-4) is not ranked and is struggling to score points. No one is predicting Michigan is going to win.
Brady Hoke’s program is getting worse and worse. Some “highlights” for this season: a humiliating 0-31 loss to Notre Dame; a 10-26 loss to Utah; a 14-30 loss to Minnesota; and a 24-26 loss to Rutgers. By contrast, Ohio State thrashed Rutgers 56-17. We think the Wolverines are going to get trounced 56-3.
So this week’s blog question: does Hoke get fired after this game? Will it take a humiliation or will a loss suffice? We would love to hear your comments via the button below.
