Marshall Thundering Herd’s Rakeem Cato – Quarterback – MVP of 2014 Boca Raton Bowl

The Boca Raton Bowl has been played two times. In 2014 Marshall beat Northern Illinois 52-23, WOW what a whopping! In 2015 Toledo beat Temple 32-17, so both Marshall and Toledo have the most Boca Raton Bowl victories. One team will join their ranks as neither team is in Boca Raton Bowl this year. This year’s Boca Raton Bowl is on December 20, 2016 at 6:00 PM EST and will be on ESPN; the Memphis Tigers play the WKU Hilltoppers.
In the 2014 Bowl Rakeem Cato threw for three TDs and ran for two TDs for a total of five TDs accounted for. He threw for 281 yards, three TDs, and zero intercpetions and he also ran for 25 yards and two TDs. This earned him MVP honors.
Rakeem Cato was not drafted in the 2015 NFL Draft. As a result of that he went to play in Canada and plays for the Montreal Alouettes, where he has had success.
