Ezekiel (Zeke) Elliott had a stellar sophomore year: 1878 yards rushing; 6.9 yards per carry; and 18 TDs. He had back to back game MVPs in the College Football Playoffs.
Zeke is 6 feet and 225 pounds with the famous six pack abs. What is there not to like about his Heisman chances? He returns to a team with the same offensive line that is going to be even better this year. Ten of the Buckeye games should be very easy sailing, and his reads and the knowledge of the offense should be even better this year.
What might hurt his Heisman chances is that the Buckeyes will be too good, and he is pulled early from games, so he can’t get the yardage a running back would need to win the Heisman. He also may be competing with his starting QB for the Heisman, which could work against either one winning the Heisman.
We think he will finish second in the Heisman. His chance of winning the Heisman are 2 to 1.
