Chad Kessler holds the record for the highest punting average in a season for an FBS player. He played for LSU from 1994 to 1997. He holds the record with 50.3 yards per punt for the 1997 season, with a minimum of at least 36 punts. He was named Consensus All-American in 1997.
He was on the practice squad for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1998, but that is the extent of his NFL career. He was the starting punter for LSU for his entire college career.
