There have been 25 coaches’ teams with perfect seasons in FBS/Division One team history. The top three coaches of all time in this category are Gil Dobie (11), Fielding H. Yost (6), and Earl Blaik (3).

Gil Dobie had a 182–45–15 overall record as a coach. He was head coach at North Dakota Agricultural (1906-1907), Washington (1908–1916), Navy (1917–1919), Cornell (1920–1935), and Boston College (1936–1938). His 11 perfect seasons were at North Dakota, Washington, and Cornell.

Fielding H. Yost had a 198–35–12 overall record as a coach. He was head coach at Ohio Wesleyan (1897), Nebraska (1898), Kansas (1899), Stanford (1900), San Jose State (1900), Michigan (1901–1923), and Michigan (1925–1926). His six perfect seasons were at Kansas and Michigan.

Earl Blaik had a 166–48–14 overall record as a coach. He was head coach at Dartmouth (1934-1940) and Army (1941-1958). His three perfect seasons were all while he coached Army.
