Ron Dayne holds the record for the most rushing yards in the FBS. He played for the Wisconsin Badgers form 1996 to 1999. He gained a total of 7,125 yards. He won the 1999 Heisman Trophy; during his career he rushed for 71 touchdowns. (He is fourth all time in rushing TDs.)



Interestingly, he beat Tony Dorsett’s (the 1976 Heisman trophy winner) record of 6,526 yards that had stood for 26 seasons. He beat the record by 601 yards. For some players that is a good season.
