David Piland holds the record for the most passes attempted in a game without an interception. Piland played for the Houston Cougars from 2010 to 2013. He broke the record vs. Louisiana Tech on September 8, 2012 in a game the Cougars lost by a score of 49-56. He broke the record with 77 pass attempts without an interception.
Piland announced his retirement from college football and any other football on October 8, 2013. He retired on the advice of his doctors, having sustained too many concussions.
