The first Bowl Game was played in 1902 in the Rose Bowl. The Michigan Wolverines beat Stanford 49-0.The game was played in Pasadena, California in front of approximately 8,500 people.

Michigan fullback Neil Snow was named the MVP of the game. Snow scored five touchdowns. Michigan amassed 503 yards rushing.

Interestingly, forward passes were not allowed, and the field was 110 yards long.
