The Camellia Bowl is in its third year. (There have been other Bowls named Camellia, but these are not strictly related.) Appalachian State won last year 31-29 vs. Ohio. The previous year Bowling Green beat South Alabama 33-28, so both Appalachian State and Bowling Green have won one Camellia Bowl. Appalachian State can become the team with the most victories in the Camellia Bowl if they beat Toledo this December 17, 2016.
In the 2015 Camellia Bowl Marcus Cox led the Appalchian State running attack that amassed 303 yards vs. 107 yards fo Ohio; Cox himself ran for 162 yards for a 6.8 yard per carry average, and one touchdown. He was named the game’s MVP.
