Frank Thomas was the first Alabama coach to win the SEC. In 1933 his team went 5-0-1 in Conference play and 7-1-1 overall. They sealed the Conference Championship with a 7-0 victory of Vanderbilt on November 30,
Coach Frank Thomas would go on to win four SEC titles in 16 years of coaching at Alabama.
