Can Cardale Jones (Ohio State) win the Heisman? (Factoid 513)

Cardale Jones got thrown into the fire for the Buckeyes’ championship run. He did very well winning three in a row against Wisconsin (59-0), Alabama (42-35), and Oregon (42-20) to win the first ever College Football Playoff.

Cardale is an interesting case. The first thing would be: is he going to be the starter? Vegas’s odds are actually with J.T. Barrett. We, however, think it will be Cardale, but he being the starter is not 100%, probably 65%.

If he is the starter, can he have a Heisman-like season? We say it’s doubtful. Ohio State’s running back Ezekiel Elliot will probably outshine Cardale. There is also so much talent coming back in the receiver core that Cardale might not get his recognition.

So given all that, what are the odds of Cardale winning the Heisman? We say 3 to 1. We do, however, believe he will be the number one NFL Draft pick in 2016. (That is probably the contest you want to win anyway.)
