Who would you rather have as your starting center in college: Alex Wojciechowicz or Dave Rimington?

Alex Wojciechowicz was born August 12, 1915 and passed away on July 13, 1992 at the age of 76. He played center for Fordham University.

He was named All-American in 1936 and 1937 and was inducted to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1955. He was the starting center on Fordham’s famed Seven Blocks of Granite offensive line. His teams went 12-1-3 in the 1936 and 1937 seasons. In total his teams scored 310 points over the course of those two seasons (very prolific numbers for that time period).

David Brian Rimington was born May 22, 1960 and played center for the University of Nebraska. His height is listed as 6 feet 3 inches and his weight at 288 pounds.

His list of awards is impressive: consensus First-Team All-America in 1981 and 1982; 2× Outland Trophy (1981, 1982); Lombardi Award (1982); and UPI Lineman of the Year (1982). His teams went 21 and 4. The Rimington Trophy, given to the nation’s best college center, is named after him.
