Factoid 310 - And the College Football Player (FBS) who has thrown the most interceptions in a game is…

Date: 11/19/14

John Reaves holds the record for having thrown the most interceptions in a game. He played for the Florida Gators from 1969 to 1971. He holds the record with nine interceptions in a game vs. Auburn on November 1, 1969. As you can imagine an infamous record like this would not lead to a victory; Florida lost the game by a score of 12-32.

Reaves won the Sammy Baugh Trophy in 1971. He was the number one draft choice of the Philadelphia Eagles in 1972. He had long career in the NFL from 1972 to 1987. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles (1972–1974), Cincinnati Bengals (1975–1978), Minnesota Vikings (1979–1980), Houston Oilers (1981), Tampa Bay Bandits (1983–1985), and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1987). He did get to start a few seasons, but his NFL career was primarily as a backup quarterback. He also played in the now defunct USFL.
