Ed Marinaro holds the record for the highest career average rushing yards per game. He played for Cornell from 1969 to 1971. He holds this record with 174.6 yards per game average: 4,715 yards in 27 games.



At Cornell, Marinaro would set 16 rushing records, as well as lead the nation in rushing in 1970 and 1971. He was the first player to surpass the 4,000 yard mark. He played in the NFL from 1972 to 1977, mostly with the Minnesota Vikings.
