Orange Bowl - Miami, Fla. - 4 p.m. (ESPN)
No. 1 Clemson (13-0) vs. No. 4 Oklahoma (11-1)
We predict that Oklahoma will win by a score of 31 to 17.
Three reasons:
1. Stoops is due for another run at a championship.
2. Oklahoma has more athletic players.
3. Clemson has not played in a game this big. Experience in big games matters.
Cotton Bowl - Arlington, Texas 8 p.m. (ESPN)
No. 2 Alabama (12-1) vs. No. 3 Michigan State (12-1)
We predict that Michigan State will win by a score of 17 to 3.
Three reasons:
1. Dantonio is due for a run at the highest level.
2. They have already beaten the best team in the country in Ohio State.
3. Sparty’s victory against the Buckeyes was no fluke.
Jan. 11 Championship Game Glendale, Ariz. 8:30 p.m. (ESPN)
We predict it will be the Oklahoma Sooners vs. the Michigan State Spartans.
We predict the Spartans will be champs, but we reserve complete judgment and analysis until after the semi-finals.
