Calvin Johnson, WR for Georgia Tech, scored a 41 on the Wonderlic, which earned him the honor of the 10th best score on this test in NFL history. Johnson played for Georgia Tech from 2004 to 2006. He was a prolific receiver all three years for the Yellow Jackets. In 2006 Calvin was awarded the 2006 ACC Player of the Year, 2006 Consensus All-American, and the 2006 Fred Biletnikoff Award.

“The Wonderlic is a 50-question test administered to all combine participants that measures cognitive ability. The time limit is 12 minutes. A score of 20 is indicative of ‘average’ intelligence and roughly equivalent to an IQ of 100. Apr 12, 2014.” - ESPN

Calvin’s high score helped his NFL draft prospects. Basically, it reassured the NFL that the physically talented Calvin Johnson also had smarts. The Detroit Lions chose him in the 1st round; he was the 2nd pick. Johnson has been an NFL success. He is 5X Pro Bowl selection and holds the NFL single-season record for most receiving yards (1,964, 2012). In Calvin Johnson’s case the Wunderlic score helped predict NFL success.
