The first nighttime football game was in 1892. Wyoming Seminary (high school) played Mansfield State Normal. The game was played to a tie of 0-0 and ended at halftime. One hundred years later the Alabama Crimson Tide beat the Miami Hurricanes in the Sugar Bowl (domed stadium) in front of 76,000 people. The Tide won 34-13 thereby winning the National Championship.
