Tyler Jones and Randy Gatewood hold the record for the most receptions in a game. They are tied for the record, which is 23 receptions.

Tyler Jones played for Eastern Michigan from 2005 to 2008. He set the record on November 28, 2008 in a game vs. Central Michigan, which Eastern Michigan won 56-52. He started out as a quarterback but ended switching to wide receiver his senior year, a move which was quite successful.



Randy Gatewood played for Nevada-Las Vegas from 1993 to 1994. In 1994 he was second in receptions in the country with 88. He also returned punts and kickoffs. He had a successful career in the Arena Football League, playing for the Arizona Rattler from 1996 to 2007. He set the record vs. Idaho on September 17, 1994. UNLV lost the game 38-48.
