Georgia’s first game and first victory was on January 30, 1892 vs. Mercer. The game was played at Herty Field in Athens, GA and was won by Georgia 50-0. Chemistry Professor Dr. Charles Herty was the coach for Georgia. He was instrumental in forming the first football and baseball teams for Georgia.
