Gary Kubiak played for the Texas A&M Aggies from 1979 to 1982. He was the Aggies starting quarterback in 1981 and 1982. He passed for 4,078 yards, 31 TDs, and 27 interceptions for a 118.5 QB rating in college. He also ran for five TDS.

Kubiak was the 197th overall pick and was taken in the eighth round by the Denver Broncos in the 1983 NFL Draft. In the NFL Kubiak made a career out of being John Elway’s backup. (Presently Elway is Kubiak’s boss as the general manager of the Denver Broncos.)

After retiring in 1991 from the NFL, Kubiak would go immediately into coaching as the running backs coach for his alma mater – Texas A&M. However, in 1994 he started coaching in the NFL and never looked back. This is Kubiak’s second time as head coach. He was head coach for the Houston Texans from 2006 to 2013 and became the head coach of the Broncos in 2015.

Gary Kubiak has been earning a paycheck in football since 1983.
