Barry Sanders holds the record for the highest average rushing yards per game in a season. He played for the Oklahoma State Cowboys from 1986 to 1988. He holds the record with 238.9 rushing yards per game in 11 games for the 1988 season.



Barry Sanders is one of football’s all time greats both in college and in the NFL. He won the Heisman in 1988 and was an All-American. He was drafted by the Detroit Lions in 1989 and was a ten-time Pro Bowler. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2004.
