Dale Klein (Nebraska) and Mike Prindle (Western Michigan) share the record for the most field goals in a game. Klein set his record on October 19, 1985 in a game vs. Missouri that Nebraska won 28 - 20. Prindle set his record on September 29, 1984 in a game vs. Marshall that Western Michigan won 42-7. The record is seven field goals.

Prindle played for the Western Michigan Broncos from 1981 to 1984. He tried to play in the NFL after college. He got his chance when the Detroit Lions signed him as a replacement player in 1987. That is the only year he played in the NFL

Klein played for Nebraska from 1984 to 1986. After graduation he talked to various NFL teams, but decided to become a rocket scientist instead, where he has had a very successful career.
