Jason Smith who played for the Baylor Bears from 2005 to 2007 holds the record for the eight all-time highest paid rookie contract.



Offensive tackle Jason Smith signed a five year/$61 million contract with the St. Louis Rams in 2008. He played in the NFL from 2009 to 2012, and in 2013 he was practice squad player. Injuries pretty much made this pick a bust.
