Sixteen team college football playoff. Now! Faniacs demand it!

5/29/15-Author:Tali
Last season there were three one loss teams worthy of receiving the fourth seed in the College Football Playoffs: Ohio State (12-1), TCU (11-1), and Baylor (11-1). Baylor and TCU had played, and Baylor had beaten TCU. TCU, however, was on a roll, as was Ohio State. The committee choose Ohio State as the fourth seed, a decision which in retrospect looks brilliant. But is “by committee” really the best way to decide who gets the fourth seed?

College Football’s FBS division has twelve conferences and four Independent teams. If you are in a weaker conference, the chances of you making it to the College Football Playoffs is very slim. Wouldn’t that be great if there was a 16 team playoff system with 12 conference champs making it to the playoffs and four at large bids? This would generate massive excitement.

In the Faniacs’ poll, 54% want a playoff with 16 teams or larger. Go ahead and vote for your preferred number of playoff teams: Vote . It is clear fans want this. Why not do it? The excitement in a 16 team College Football Playoff would be tremendous.
