The Oklahoma Sooners won 13-2 in the Orange Bowl vs. Florida State. This season was not without controversy, as some thought the Miami Hurricanes deserved a shot to go to the National Championship game, a team that beat Florida State in their regular season match-up 27-24 (Miami’s one loss coming early in the season to the Washington Huskies).

Torrance Marshall, a linebacker for the Sooners, was named the game’s MVP. It is rare that a defensive player wins MVP in a national title game, but given the low score this completely makes sense.
