Factoid #9 - 2002 - OSU Beats University of Miami in a Double Overtime Thriller

The Ohio State University won the national title by defeating the Miami Hurricanes 31 to 24 in double overtime. It was one of the most exciting games in NCAA football history.

The National Championship, however, was not a consensus champion as three selectors chose USC as the National Champion. We will never know who was the better team, OSU or USC; that is why we, the FANS, need a legitimate playoff format!
