The Cure Bowl is a very new bowl and has been played only one year. It was created to raise awareness for breast cancer. Last year the San Jose State Spartans played the Georgia State Panthers in the Cure Bowl and beat them by a score of 27 to 16. This year the Bowl is in its second year and the UCF Knights play the Arkansas State Redwolfs on December 17, 2016 at 4:30 PM EST and can be seen on CBSSN.
In the 2015 Cure Bowl QB Kenny Potter led the San Jose State Spartans to a 27-16 victory. Along the way he passed for 89 yards and a TD and ran for 69 yards a TD; this performance earned him the MVP award for the 2015 AutoNation Cure Bowl.
