Halfback Bob Fenimore from Oklahoma State University was the first pick in the 1947 NFL Draft. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears.
In 1945 Bob led the nation in total offense and rushing and finished third in the Heisman voting. He played sparingly in 1946* due to injuries, but the Bears drafted him anyway.
Bob played only one season for the Bears. He is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.
* Note: the NFL draft is in the spring after the college season; so, for instance, the 1990 draft corresponds to the 1989 season.
