The first College Playoff was in the 2014 season. That is 146 years after the start of College Football.

The Alabama Crimson Tide was the number one seed and played the Ohio State Buckeyes in one matchup. Ohio State won 42-35. In the other Playoff game the Oregon Ducks beat the Florida State Seminoles 59-20.

In the finals Ohio State beat Oregon 42-20 winning the first College Football Playoffs and College Football National Championship.
