Hello! It is great to have College Football back. Last year we predicted Mariota as the Heisman winner, the four playoff participants, Championship game participants, and the National Champion. However, we missed on our late midseason pick, when Braxton Miller got hurt a few days before camp.

Here is this year’s picks:

Heisman Trophy

Trevone Boykin, the QB for TCU. A rocket fueled offense that returns ten starters on offense playing in a relatively weak conference. This is a no brainer. Yea, we know about Ohio State’s players, but their talent overload will dilute everyone’s overall contribution.

BCF Playoff Teams
#1 Seed - The Ohio State Buckeyes. Ohio State is returning TWO starting QBs, seven offensive starters, and seven defensive starters, as well as late season Phenom Ezekiel Elliot. True, there have been some coaching changes, but Coach Meyers’ staff won’t miss a beat.
#2 Seed - TCU Horned Frogs. All-American QB Trevone Boykin is returning. Ten offensive starters are returning. This high powered offense will be unstoppable.
#3 Seed - Oregon Ducks. Oregon returns eight offensive starters and seven defensive starters. True, they lost Heisman award winning QB Mariota, but for Mark Helfrich’s this is no problem; they just reload the new QB. Also, returning to the playoffs will not be so challenging, as Oregon can relatively easily win the Pac-12. We also don’t believe we will ever see two teams from the same conference making the playoffs, so a team has to come from the Pac-12.
#4 Seed – Florida State Seminoles. The question with Florida State is, who can challenge them in the ACC. We don’t think anybody can. A loss to Florida could knock them out of the playoffs, but we don’t see that happening, as Florida is not the power it used to be. Why leave out the SEC? Overall the power teams in the SEC will be down this year, and they will beat each other up. So yes, we believe the SEC is left out.

BCF Playoffs First Round
The Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Florida State Seminoles. Ohio State wins this easily, as Florida State will be in the playoffs more for the lack of competition in the ACC than their overall strength.
TCU Horned Frogs vs. Oregon Ducks. We see TCU winning this one. Yes, another disappointment for Mark Helfrich, although in a QB reloading year this is a very good finish. TCU will have too much offense.

National Championship Game
The Ohio State Buckeyes vs. the TCU Horned Frogs. The Frogs will not have the defense to stop the Buckeyes. While high powered spread offenses are the rage right now; old fashioned smash mouth football will win this game.

National Champion
Ohio State repeats as National Champion. A repeat is tough, but there are no teams that can stop OSU in the Big Ten, and the teams that will make the playoffs do not match up well against Ohio State. Yes, it is hard to repeat, but from Coach Urban Meyer’s perspective 2015 was the year they were going to challenge for the National Championship. So Ohio State wins it all again, but there will be some close games, as there always are in College Football.
