Vince Young and the Longhorns defeated USC by a score of 41-38 in what some call the most exciting National Championship game to date. The game did set the record for most points scored in a BCS National Championship game with 79 total points scored. It was Texas’s legendary coach Mack Brown’s first and only National Championship. Vince Young also set the record for most total yards in a BCS National Championship game with 467.
