Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney from the South Carolina Gamecocks was the first pick of the 2014 NFL Draft. In his sophomore season he played so well that various watch lists projected him as the Heisman Trophy winner the next year, however illness and injury limited some of his playing and some of his performance his junior year. In 2012, his sophomore season, he was a Consensus All-American and winner of the Ted Hendricks Award.

Jadeveon Clowney would forgo his senior season and was drafted by the Houston Texans in 2014. Clowney has had some injuries that have limited his playing time, but he appears to be on a good start to his NFL career if he can stay healthy. As for the Texans their draft picks and coaching seem to have this team heading in the right direction.
