Florida State has had one number one draft pick and that was Jameis Winston. Flroida has not had an overall number one draft pick, so Florida State has more number one draft picks.

In the 2015 NFL Draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers picked first and chose quarterback Jameis Winston.

Jameis Winston played for the Florida State Seminoles from 2013 to 2014. He won the Heisman in 2013 and came in sixth in 2014. Over his college career he threw for 65 touchdowns and ran for seven. He threw for 7,964 passing yards. He won the National Championship in 2013.

He started for the Buccaneers his rookie year (2015) and appears to have a promising future in the NFL.

The highest position a Gator has ever been picked is third: quarterback Steve Spurrier (San Francisco 49ers); defensive tackle Gerard Warren (Cleveland Browns); and receiver Wes Chandler (New Orleans Saints).
