The 2014/2015 college football season will move to a four team playoff to settle a national championship. Will that be enough teams?
Last night in the Louisiana Superdome Oklahoma convincingly beat Alabama by a score of 45 to 31. Oklahoma was ranked 11th in the nation going into the game and Alabama was ranked 3rd. Oklahoma outplayed Alabama in almost every aspect of the game.
In a four team playoff scenario Alabama would have played Auburn (again) and Florida State would play Michigan State. Oklahoma would not be included, although clearly they were a better team than Alabama.
While the four team playoff is a step in the right direction, it will still leave too much of the National Champion decisions up to the polls and not enough of decided by play on the field. Vote to change that:
