Well its not Michigan. However, it is a Big Ten School, but it is not Ohio State, not Penn State, and not Wisconsin. Rutgers has the most players on Super Bowl LI roosters with five.
Four former Rutger players are on the New England Patriots roster: Jonathan Freeny (LB), Logan Ryan (CB), Duron Harmon (DB), and Devin McCourty (DB). Atlanta’s wide receiver Mohamed Sanu also played for Rutgers. Jonathan Freeny actually won’t be playing because he is on injured reserve, but if New England wins he gets a Super Bowl Ring.
If you look at the top five in schools represented in the Super Bowl, the remaining list is what you would expect. Alabama, LSU, and Stanford each have four players in Super Bowl LI; while Auburn, Virginia, and Washington each have three.
