Factoid 413 - Who has the 5th worst all time Wonderlic score for an NFL Prospect?

Date: 3/2/15

Oscar Davenport, QB for North Carolina, scored a 6 on the Wonderlic, which earned him the honor of the 5th worst score on this test in NFL history. Davenport played for North Carolina from 1995 to 1998. He was a relatively successful quarterback in 1997 and 1998. The NFL scouts liked his physical ability.

“The Wonderlic is a 50-question test administered to all combine participants that measures cognitive ability. The time limit is 12 minutes. A score of 20 is indicative of ‘average’ intelligence and roughly equivalent to an IQ of 100. Apr 12, 2014.” - ESPN

There was mild interest in Davenport in the draft. After his dismal Wonderlic score he went undrafted and in fact didn’t even make a practice squad. Davenport never played in the NFL. In this case the Wonderlic weeded him out and his low score cost him being drafted.
