Alabama vs. Michigan, which program rules all time? (Titans Clash 66)

Alabama has an historical record of 850–325–43 for a winning percentage of 71.6%. Their program was started in 1892. The Crimson Tide claims 15 National Championships, though some say they could claim more. They have won 25 SEC titles. Bear Bryant was the winningest coach at Alabama and some say the best college coach ever. Alabama leads in National Championships amongst Division One teams and is a dominant force every year.

Michigan has an historical record of 915–328–36 for a winning percentage of 72.9%. Presently, they are the all-time winningest program. (Texas is second and is 31 games behind.) Their program was started in 1879. The Wolverines claim 11 National Championships, ten of which were before 1950. They have won 42 conference championships. Fielding Yost is Michigan’s most successful coach and a pioneer in the game of football.

So what we want to know is would you rather your team have the most National Championships or the most wins overall? Which, in your opinion, is a more impressive accomplishment. Please comment via the button below.

We think it is National Championships. It is so hard to win a National Championship. On the other hand, for major powerhouses it is not that hard, expected actually, that they win ten to eleven games per season in the modern era.
