Defensive end Courtney Brown from the Penn State University was the first pick of the 2000 NFL Draft. Courtney was drafted by the Cleveland Browns.

Courtney was a consensus All-American his senior year. He finished his college career with a NCAA record-breaking 33 quarterback sacks and 70 tackles for a loss.

Courtney played for the Browns for five seasons and for the Denver Broncos for one season. He had a good start as a rookie but was injured. Injuries would limit his career. As an overall number one draft pick he was a bust.
